Alcohol consistently increases heart rate at all times within 24 hours of consumption. However, the CDC states these findings may be due to other lifestyle differences between people who drink moderately and those who do not. Repeated binge drinking can lead to long-term increases in blood pressure. Ratings of the certainty of evidence ranged from moderate to low in this review, which suggests that the effect estimates of alcohol might be slightly different than the true effects.
